Morioka: the Five Hundred Rakans

This is the Hoonji Temple.


There is a lot of rakan sculptures... 
”Rakan” means respectable and famous saints in buddhist words.

"Rakan" spells "羅漢" in Kanji.

These golden sculptures may be able to move and speak...

So scary....

 Hoonji temple's bell. If you hit this bell, rakans will come and attack you...
